I recently started drinking a lot... a lot of chamomile tea as recommended by my doctor. Chamomile has strong antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties making it an excellent remedy for stomach cramps. Drinking plain chamomile tea once in the morning and once in the evening can do wonders if you suffer from a sensitive stomach (like me). Chamomile also assists as a sleep aid, can relieve headaches (best to drink when you feel the headache coming on), helps skin stay in tip-top clear shape, can help calm muscle spasms.... these are just some of the benefits, the list goes on and on. 

Here is a recipe I created. I only have this tea every now and again because it is on the sweet side. It is a treasured tonic. Put all ingredients in a pot on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. I generally drink this tea hot BUT it can also be cooled and blended with ice, it's bomb.com :)

  • 1 cup of steeped chamomile tea
  • 1/2 cup nut (I use unsweetened almond) or coconut milk  
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla OR scrape about 1/4 of a vanilla bean for extra decadence) 
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger powder
  • 1 tsp. maple syrup 
  • a very "small" pinch of pink himalayan sea salt
