PRACTICING WHAT I PREACH...

I matched with a guy on Tinder a while back. He messaged me and said, “I can tell you are a healer.”

I was so annoyed I unmatched and blocked him immediately.

It took me a long time to admit that this was my path.

During my healer training with David Elliott, he said something to me along the lines of, "You are a reluctant healer, just like I was."

Reluctant, resistant and repressed I was. Over time, I have come to accept my gifts, as challenging as that has been. In order for me to accept myself, I have had to face my biggest fears and darkest shadows (and still do). Managing my own extreme sensitivity, every day I choose to continue this work. I choose to connect the dots, seek answers, trust my intuition, engage in generous self-care, forgive, respect and love myself.

I try my best to honor and be transparent about how messy and hard things can be. If you want a teacher who knows it all, I’m not the teacher for you. I am here diligently practicing how to get through the hard stuff. And, when it is all said and done, it really is all about self-love. I know, cringe-worthy. BUT IT’S TRUE. We all seem to be experts in taking care of the people around us, but when it comes to giving that compassion and attention to ourselves-- that’s another story. Can we turn the love back on ourselves? Can we accept and honor ourselves, just as we do those we hold most dear? That's my goal, with myself, and with each of my students / clients.

Whether I am guiding a private breathwork or reiki session, a group workshop, a community yoga class or teaching trauma-informed yoga, my work is to shift, one moment at a time, one breath at time, towards mending, healing and connecting. That’s where the beauty is. The excitement, the inspiration, the enthusiasm and the SELF-LOVE.

In my opinion, life is about fulfilling each of our individual destinies by tapping into our purpose and power. And this can only be done when we are willing to push up against what has been holding us back, finding the causes of the symptoms that create dis-ease in the body. It's time to #swiperight for #selflove.

My practice is inspired by Kundalini, Kripalu, Tantra, Restorative, and Pranayama Breathwork. I have been blessed to study under Danny Arguetty, Krishna Kaur, Hari Kaur Khalsa, Daisy Thompson, David Elliott and Lisa Levine over the last ten years.
